Had an amazing time at The Oliviers. I was so nervous performing in front of such a different audience, but I felt the performance went well so I was pleased. I loved wearing Victoria's dress - I felt so glamorous! It was a really fun night - I had some compliments after my performance and met some very exciting people like Brian May and Jonathan Pryce (legends!)

It would have been fantastic to win but I'm really chuffed to have been nominated. Maybe next time!

Melanie to make Theatre debut

Melanie is thrilled to announce that she is to star as Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers at the West End’s Phoenix Theatre! She is due to start rehearsals next month and will make her debut performance on October 26th. Melanie says:

"I'm a great believer in fate and when the opportunity came along to audition for 'Blood Brothers' I couldn't resist. It's such a well-loved show and has always been one of my favourites and the Liverpool connection just adds to the appeal. It's a real honour to be asked to take on the role of Mrs Johnstone especially following in such great footsteps. I love a challenge and I think the discipline of theatre combined with the inspiration of Willy Russell's writing will provide great preparation for my fifth solo album"

As from today, Melanie's brand new single, title track to her current album, "This Time" is available in stores all over the UK. The single includes the energetic b-side "We Love To Entertain You", which is used in Germany for the massive autumn/winter trailer compaign by Prosieben. Due to an error at the mastering studio, the long expected alternative version of "Understand" was not added to the single, however, Melanie has kindly put this file up, to download for FREE on her official site!

Tim Royes... rest in peace

Tim Royes, director of Melanie's 3 latest videos: "I Want Candy", "The Moment You Believe" & "Carolyna" has sadly passed away on Monday, 13 August 2007.

MelanieC.be was deeply shocked at the suddenness of Tim's demise. We send our deepest heartfelt condolences & strength to his family and friends.

Next Single: This Time!

Melanie has been busy in the studio reworking the title track from her current album "This Time". She has re-recorded it with Peter-John Vettese ready for release as a single in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on October 12th. "We Love To Entertain You" Will be the b-side.

Melanie coming to the Benelux!!
2007-07-30 - Monday

Melanie's finally back in the Benelux! She will be spending two days in Belgium, 11th & 12th august, and one day in The Netherlands on 13th august.

In Belgium, the two highlights of her visit will both take place at the seaside. She will be performing at "Radio2 Zomerhit" taking place in Westende at the beach of St. Laureins on august 11th. And as if this isn't exciting enough already she will also be doing an album signing session at Media Markt in Ostende at 2pm on Sunday the 12th! You'll be able to go and say hi to Melanie herself! So make sure you come along and take all your friends & family with you for a lovely and hopefully sunny weekend at the sea!

If you're sadly stuck at home and can't come along to this amazing day, we still have a little surprise for you.. she will also be doing some great TV shows, more info on that soon!

In the Netherlands, Melanie will be doing loads of Radio promotion, we'll keep you posted once we have more info on that!

Melanie is honoured to have been asked to write and perform the trailer music for this year's Pro7 Starforce campaign in Germany. Last year's song was written and performed by Take That. The trailer campaign is due to start airing on German TV in early October and will feature on the b-side of Melanie's next single.Details to be announced in the coming weeks.
